Tabetha and the two babies unexpectedly arrived at my house last Saturday for an indefinite period of time while she sorts out some personal issues and my life has turned upside down. I have done no sewing, my time is spent enjoying them, entertaining a three year old who never tires and outwits me at every turn, and taking them in the pool when I am supposed to be being productive. I wouldn't change a minute of the past week! This old Nana has to admit, I'm exhausted, wow, what a wonderful tired it is. I managed to get some orders mailed, a baby sits half done in a Ziploc bag, and I have become proficient at sharing the imagination of a smart little girl. The loneliness from Mark being gone is abated somewhat and Tabetha has cleaned every picture, shelf and knick knack in my house. I love Ayla saying good morning Nana when I wake up in the afternoon and saying good bye when I leave for work. Sophie is comfortable with me and I can feed strained carrots with the best of em. Her little smirk is adorable. They can stay forever....
I used to be pretty independent, able to function pretty proficiently, and the past several weeks have convinced me that Mark has turned me into a spoiled princess since we've been together. Since he's been in school, I've had to fix the bath tub drain, when all else fails, use a hammer! Works well now. I've learned to fix a toilet, Ayla is a big help holding the flashlight and Nana has learned that the F word isn't a good one to use around a three year old. I've managed to keep the pool clean, the house standing, and the pets alive. My work mates laugh at my wrinkled uniforms because they are quick to tell everyone, you can tell Mark isn't there doing her laundry, sigh. I make my own coffee these days, counting the days until my love once again wakes me up with a fresh, hot cup. He needs to come home soon....
